Carrol Rogers Testimony

When I was eight years old I went to the Skyline Baptist Church in Tacoma, Wa.  God spoke to my young heart and I was convinced I needed him to take charge of my life.  Very soon afterward, my parents divorced and my mother decided we were to move to Oregon. Life was difficult at times with lots of moves and different new Dads and a few "uncles".  I continued to drag my brother and sister to church. In high school, I started to miss church and devote my time to school, work and being with my friends.

In my senior year of school, I was engaged to a man that was not a Christian, we married a year later. We began to attend a church and my husband became a member of the church. Our first son was born, then we moved to Clearlake and had another son.  During that time I was attending on Sunday and 'living it up' the rest of the week. When my youngest son was a baby, God spoke to my heart, during a sermon about the crucifixion of Christ and how Mary watched Jesus on the cross and recalled him as her baby and now he had become her savior. My heart was convinced that I to give my whole week/life to Jesus and immediately a dark cloud of guilt was lifted off my shoulders!

During the years that followed, both of my sons became Christians, their father had become active in the church. Then when they were 7 and 11 their father left the family.  I was devastated and quickly learned the depths of God's love and care through the members of my church. Five years later God led me to marry a recently widowed man with two children.

We had a very busy life that included ball games, children's teen years and church. My husband Dale, became a deacon and inspired my son's, who are both serving in their churches.  All together we have eight wonderful grandchildren, and their parents are all hard working people who make a difference in their communities.

Now, as I approach the "Golden Years" I am excited to see how god can use me.  There are so many opportunities to serve Christ in your "Corner of the World".  When you have had a loving, active church to grow in and a community, like Clearlake that has a lot of challenges to share Christ's love.

Peggys' Testimony

I accepted the Lord as child, but as an adult, with pressures of raising a family and job, I back slide away from the church.  Then, It seemed that no matter how hard I tried to be happy in my life, I still wasn't hitting the mark. Only when I turned back to the Lord and rededicated my life to him did I understand what real joy was.

Fosters' Testimony

Before I accepted Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior, I was a professional soldier for 28 years in the United States army.  I served in three conflicts; World War II, Korea and Vietnam.  Even though I had been brought up in Christian atmosphere by my grandmother, I drifted away from church activities, until I retired from the military.

After I retired from the military, I attended church with my wife and heard a very interesting message that stirred up my curiosity and I wanted to know more about Jesus.  I studied with two or three different denominations and finally I joined a Baptist Church and was baptized, in my search to know more about Jesus.  However, my wife, Jimmie, has a friend that recommended that I listen to Dr. J. Vernon McGee on the "Thru the Bible Radio" and at that time he taught me what Christianity was all about and I received Jesus into heart as my personal Savior and then I was on the right track.

Since Jesus came into my life as my personal Savior, I have been appointed deacon in my church, First Baptist Church of Clearlake, California and now I am on my way to the Heaven-- Come On And Go With Me.
